Nika Kurent

Nika Kurent has a diverse work experience in event management and public speaking. Nika is currently the Head of Events at the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators since April 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a Public Speaker at Speaking Opportunities starting from April 2019. From March 2020 to April 2021, they served as the Head of Events at the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics. Nika has also held the role of Head of Events at the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts from October 2016 to November 2019. During their tenure there, they achieved significant accomplishments such as cost reduction, process improvement, team development, and successful management of large-scale conferences and other events. Before transitioning into event management, they worked as a Front of House Coordinator at Pax Lodge from February 2015 to October 2016. Nika also has experience as a Sales and Events Manager at Union hoteli d.d. from December 2007 to January 2015. Additionally, they served as the Executive Producer of Naprej/Forward, Festival of Media Culture and Trends at the Slovene Association of Journalists from May 2012 to December 2014. Before that, they worked as a Journalist and Anchor at Radio glas Ljubljane from September 2002 to October 2006.

Nika Kurent earned a Master's degree in Journalism from the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Social Sciences from 2000 to 2006. Nika also completed a Management Development Programme at the London School of Business and Finance LSBF in 2018. Additionally, they obtained a CMI Level 5 Diploma in Management from the Chartered Management Institute in the same year. Prior to their university studies, Nika attended Gimnazija Bežigrad Ljubljana for their high school education from 1996 to 2000.
