Cornelia H. Hall

Board Member at CHATHAM COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT

Cornelia retired from the South Carolina School System in 2007 after working in Beaufort and Jasper Counties as an assistant principal and principal. She then worked for the Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools at Thunderbolt Elementary until 2010 as a Reading Resource teacher, spending her final year before full retirement at Union Mission’s Employment Training Center. Working at Union Mission gave her the opportunity to understand and analyze the impact of agencies such as The United Way, Step-Up Savannah, and DCFS on the lives of Savannah’s children.

Cornelia grew up in the small town of Tuckahoe in Westchester County, New York, moving there with her parents from Hilton Head, SC as a young child. She graduated from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign with a major in American History and began her career in education in Chicago, Illinois before returning to Hilton Head in 1989.
