Jiona Mills, MPH, currently serves as a Community Engagement Specialist for Chatham County, leading outreach initiatives for the Public Health Department and collaborating with local organizations to enhance community wellness. Prior experience includes roles as a Research Specialist at the UNC School of Medicine-Center for Aging and Health, where responsibilities spanned from May to October 2023, and as a Leadership Trainer at FOCUS Training, focusing on college-readiness and team-building workshops for students from May 2019 to August 2023. Additional experience encompasses positions as a Health Equity Program Assistant at UNC Student Wellness, a Research Assistant at the UNC School of Medicine Center for Aging and Health, and an Intern at Chatham Organizing for Racial Equity. Jiona earned a Master of Public Health in Health Behavior from the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health and holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Public Health, Health Policy and Management from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
