Susan Harris

Susan Harris has held various leadership roles throughout their career. Currently, they serve as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at the Chattanooga Tourism Co., where they oversee accounting, finance, human resources, information technology, general administration, visitor services, and strategic projects. Susan is known for their strong emphasis on organizational culture, leadership development, and strategic management. Susan has also served as the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SEE ROCK CITY, INC., where they successfully led the organization through the COVID-19 pandemic to a record-breaking financial recovery. Prior to that, they held the positions of President, Chief Operating Officer (COO), and Director of Human Resources and Organizational Development at SEE ROCK CITY, INC. Susan also has experience as an Instructor at the University of Phoenix - Chattanooga and as the Director of Human Resources at Express Check Advance, LLC. Their expertise includes advising executives on HR strategy, managing acquisitions, and leading HR operations. Earlier in their career, Susan served as the Director of People Services at Chattanooga Group, where they managed HR activities for the rehabilitation division and provided counseling and investigations to resolve employee relations issues.

Susan Harris holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Susan also obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Political Science from Berry College. Additionally, they have obtained certifications such as Professional In Destination Management from Destinations International, SHRM-SCP from SHRM, and Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) Certification from HR Certification Institute - HRCI.
