Melissa Spas has extensive experience in the field of education and engagement related roles, with a focus on religion and philanthropy. In their most recent role as Vice President for Religion at Chautauqua Institution, Melissa provides leadership for the department of religion. Prior to this, Melissa held key positions at Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, Indiana University Bloomington, Duke University, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and Catholic Charities USA. Melissa holds a Master of Theology degree from Harvard University, a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management from North Carolina State University, and a Bachelor's degree in Religious Studies, Women's Studies, and Values, Ethics, and Social Action from Allegheny College.
