Ian Porteous

Ian Porteous is an experienced professional in the field of sales engineering and cybersecurity, currently serving as Regional Director of Sales Engineering for Check Point Software Technologies, Ltd. since September 2007. Ian has held various positions within the company, including SE Manager and Technical Manager for the UK Channel, as well as starting as a Security Engineer. In addition to responsibilities at Check Point, Ian co-leads the AWS User Group in Milton Keynes, fostering a community centered around the AWS ecosystem since November 2021. Prior experience includes roles as a Presales Consultant at Computerlinks, Senior Support Engineer at Unipalm, and Support Engineer at UUNET/Worldcom. Ian holds a BSc in Computing (networks and communication) from Sheffield Hallam University, completed in 2001.
