Shiva Empranthiri is currently a software engineer at Check. Prior to that, they worked as a software engineer at Intuit from August 2017 to December 2021, where they were responsible for full stack development and technical ownership of the onboarding and offboarding experience for Intuit Experts, which supports the TurboTax Live and Quickbooks Live platforms.
Shiva's day-to-day involves building full-stack applications with modern technology, including React, Redux, Spring Boot, Kafka, and AWS, and ensuring high levels of quality, monitoring, and traceability. They are also experienced with front-end technologies such as Node and Javascript, back-end technologies such as Java and BPMN/Camunda, and operations such as Kubernetes on AWS, Docker, Jenkins, ArgoCD, Wavefront, Splunk, AppDynamics, Github, and Cloudwatch.
Prior to their work at Intuit, Shiva interned as a software engineer at TurboTax from June 2016 to September 2016. During their internship, they made contributions to both the TurboTax mobile application and web application, primarily working in React & React Native. Part of their summer was spent improving the performance of both the web & mobile versions of TurboTax by making more data immutable and reducing React renders by stopping unnecessary processing when application data does not change. Shiva also contributed to feature development in React Native and optimized the data input pipeline (in Javascript).
Shiva Empranthiri holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo and a certification from Triplebyte as a Triplebyte Certified Front End Engineer. Shiva also attended Santa Clara High School.
