Duarte Carneiro

Duarte Carneiro has over 19 years of experience in software engineering and development roles. Duarte currently works at Checkmarx as an R&D Team Lead - Full Stack Software Engineer, where they lead a team of 6 developers in adding new features and support for a secure software delivery product. Duarte also provides technical support, develops monitoring tools, and maintains collaborative relationships with internal groups. Prior to this, Duarte worked at Efacec as a Senior Software Engineer for over 13 years, where they created software solutions for public transportation companies and gained hands-on experience in all stages of the software development life cycle. Additionally, they worked as a Freelance Software Engineer, developing custom solutions for various clients and distributed development teams worldwide. Duarte began their career at Efacec Sistemas de Electrónica as a Software Engineer, where they developed front-end and back-end applications for public transportation companies and provided training, troubleshooting, and customer support.

Duarte Carneiro obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering - Information Systems from the Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto from 1998 to 2003. In addition to their degree, they have several certifications. In 2015, they obtained a certification in Programming in C# from Rumos - Portugal, and in 2016, they completed a certification in Project Management Fundamentals from the same institution. In 2020, they obtained the Scrum Fundamentals Certified (SFC) from SCRUMstudy - Accreditation Body for Scrum and Agile, followed by a certification in Architecting on AWS from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in 2021. Their most recent certification is the AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, which they obtained from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in December 2022. Additionally, in 2015, they completed a certification in Web Application Development from FLAG.
