Hugo Fernandes

Hugo Fernandes has a diverse range of work experience in the software engineering field. Hugo started their career in 2008, working as a Software Engineer at ViaQuanta and later at Viaquanta - Telecomunicações, Lda. Hugo then moved on to Critical Manufacturing in 2011, where they held multiple roles over a span of 6 years. At Critical Manufacturing, they gained experience in software development for the Semiconductor Manufacturing Industries, including manual and automated testing, test integration framework development, and bug fixing. Hugo utilized various technologies such as Lua, wxWidgets, C/C++, Java, and Red Hat Enterprise. Additionally, they have experience with tools like Eclipse, Git, and HP Application Lifecycle Management. Hugo also attended several training events to enhance their skills in areas such as MongoDB, C++, Scrum, and Manufacturing Execution Systems. Most recently, they joined Checkmarx in 2017 as a Software Engineer and was later promoted to the role of Software Engineer Team Leader in October 2019.

Hugo Fernandes began their education in 2003 at Instituto Politécnico de Viana do Castelo, where they pursued a degree in Electronics and Computer Networks. Hugo completed their Licenciatura program in this field in 2008. In 2015, Hugo attended a course on Building Extensible Applications with MEF, Building and Securing a RESTful API for Multiple Clients in ASP.NET, and Introduction to BrightstarDB, all provided by Pluralsight. Hugo also obtained certifications in Application Security and Secure Coding Training course in .NET from Checkmarx in 2019, and in JavaScript Course from SoloLearn in 2016. Hugo obtained several other certifications in areas such as team building, resilience, critical thinking, leading change, and setting team and employee goals from LinkedIn in 2021. Prior to their formal education, Hugo acquired a certification in Geographical databases using PostgreSQL and PostGIS from Faunalia.eu in 2009.
