Mariano Albera

Mariano Albera has a diverse work experience, spanning over several companies and roles. Starting in 1999, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Despegar, Rumbo.es. During this time, they developed high-level software applications using various technologies such as Java, J2EE, Oracle, C#, ASP.Net, Delphi, C++, SQL, HTML, and JavaScript.

In 2007, they transitioned to Opodo as the Chief Information Officer, where they held this role until 2012. Following that, they joined Thomas Cook as the Group Chief Information Officer & Chief Technology Officer (Online) from 2012 to 2014.

Next, they joined OVO Energy as the Chief Technology Officer from 2014 to 2016. Mariano then moved on to Expedia, Inc. in 2016, where they served as the Chief Technology Officer until 2019.

In 2017, Mariano Albera took on the role of Non-Executive Director at DoctorLink, which lasted until June 2020. Finally, in November 2020, they joined Checkout.com as the Senior Vice President of Engineering.

Mariano Albera completed their education with an engineering degree in Information Technology from the Pontificia Universidad Católica Argentina 'Santa María de los Buenos Aires' from 1995 to 2000. Prior to that, they attended Washington School from 1990 to 1995.
