Jamil Cooks

Jamil Cooks is an experienced professional with a background in program management, operations, and compliance. Currently serving as an In House Research Apprentice at Checkr, Inc. since July 2025, Jamil previously worked at the Latino Coalition for Community Leadership from August 2022 to July 2025, managing various community initiatives, including Fair Chance Hiring and the Community Connections Program in collaboration with the Colorado Department of Corrections. Jamil also held the position of Chief Operations Officer at Peak City Athletics for a decade, overseeing significant organizational growth, and served as a Compliance Officer at CommunityWorks, ensuring adherence to federal and state contracts. Earlier experience includes a role as a Customer Care Specialist at Fix My Blinds. Jamil holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management from both Alcorn State University and the United States Air Force Academy.
