Senior Software Engineer at Checkr

Jason Brown has a diverse work experience spanning several companies. Jason began their career as an Investment Banking Analyst at Stifel, where they worked from July 2008 to July 2011. Jason then joined Boeing as a Corporate Development Analyst in September 2011 and stayed there until August 2015. Following this, they worked as a Contract Software Engineer at Havensight Consulting from June 2016 to September 2016.

Jason then moved on to Uptake, where they held multiple roles. Jason started as a Software Engineer in September 2016 and worked until October 2018. During this time, they contributed to building the Auth Service, Accounts applications, and a client library consumed by various development teams. Jason also played a Java and Vue developer role on the Identity and Access Management team.

Afterwards, they assumed the position of Senior Software Engineer at Uptake from October 2018 to October 2019. Here, they primarily focused on building workflows and onboarding data onto the data science platform.

Currently, Jason is employed at Checkr, Inc. as a Senior Software Engineer. Since joining in November 2019, they have been responsible for delivering impactful, full-stack projects, collaborating closely with Product to identify quick wins, and actively supporting incident resolution. Jason has also authored and reviewed engineering RFCs, tech-talks, and blog posts. Additionally, they have been involved in launching hackathon projects into production and has played a role in building a positive team culture.

Jason Brown attended New Trier High School District from 2000 to 2004. After completing high school, they enrolled at Cornell University from 2004 to 2008 and earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Economics. Later, they pursued further education at Northwestern University from 2015 to 2016, where they obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Computer Science.
