Zach Gianos

Zach Gianos has a diverse work experience in various companies and roles. Zach is currently working at Checkr, Inc. as a Staff Software Engineer, starting in March 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Checkr from August 2019 to March 2022.

Before joining Checkr, Inc., Zach worked at FX Palo Alto Laboratory as a Senior Software Engineer from January 2018 to June 2019. In this role, they focused on researching new markets and business opportunities, particularly in healthcare, transportation logistics, office and document services, smart buildings, and real-time location systems. From January to May 2015, Zach worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Vehicle Data Science, where they developed roadway maneuver mapping algorithms for autonomous vehicle navigation. Zach used Python to analyze vehicle GPS and inertial navigation data, scrubbing for errors and smoothing inconsistencies. Zach also utilized reverse-Kalman and reverse-convolutional filters to remove biases and reconstruct original traces.

Prior to that, Zach worked at Northrop Grumman as a Systems Engineer from May 2009 to December 2014. Zach designed and developed software systems using various programming languages such as C, C++, Java, MATLAB, Perl, and Fortran. In their first year, they took ownership of a project to modernize and refactor legacy software. Zach also developed signal processing algorithms.

Zach's earliest work experience includes being a CS 107 TA at Stanford University in the fall of 2008 and working as a Hardware Intern at Arista Networks, Inc. from June to September 2007.
