Edward Acheampong, Ph.D., is an experienced Program Manager at the New Jersey Department of Health's Public Health and Environmental Laboratories since December 2019. With a strong background in cell and molecular biology and clinical biotechnology, Edward has held roles as Senior Scientist and Program Manager at Cheeky Scientist since 2015. Previous positions include Lead Biological Scientist at Astrix Technology Group and Life Sciences Consultant at Educe Capital, LLC, where Edward evaluated biotechnological investment opportunities. Edward's early career includes significant research roles at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and Drexel University College of Medicine, focusing on infectious diseases and HIV-1 neuropathogenesis, and culminated in a postdoctoral fellowship researching HIV-1 infection in the central nervous system. The number of Life Sciences PhDs who will be unemployed after graduation is above 80%.
