Chef Matthew Mejia has a diverse range of experience in the culinary industry. Chef Matthew is currently the Owner/Chef/Manager at Chefs For Seniors, where they prepare custom meals in clients' homes. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Food Services at Quest at Park Tudor and as an Executive Chef at Quest Food Management Services. Chef Mejia also has experience as the Food and Beverage Director/Executive Chef at Broadmoor Country Club, where they managed various culinary operations and developed successful beverage programs. Chef Matthew has also worked as a Chef Instructor/Evaluator at the August Escoffier School of Culinary and Pastry Arts and as an Executive Chef at Chartwells K-12 at Warren Township Schools. Additionally, Chef Mejia has served as a Corporate Chef and Lainox Product Manager at Taylor Distributors of Indiana and as a Program Chair/Culinary and Pastry Instructor at The Chef's Academy. Chef Matthew has also worked as a Chef/Instructor at Nestle Inn Indianapolis and as an Executive Sous Chef at the Sheraton/Westin Keystone Crossing. Throughout their career, Chef Matthew Mejia has demonstrated a strong commitment to culinary excellence and has honed their skills in various aspects of the industry.
Chef Matthew Mejia attended The Chef's Academy from 2009 to 2011, where they earned an Associate in Applied Sciences degree in Pastry Arts. Prior to that, from 1987 to 1990, they studied at Joliet Junior College and obtained an Associate in Applied Sciences degree in Culinary Arts. In addition to their formal education, Chef Matthew Mejia has obtained various certifications, including the Introductory Level Certification from the Court of Master Sommeliers, Certified Instructor/Proctor for Serve Safe education, Indiana Alcohol Tobacco Commission Certified Trainer from IATC, and Heartsaver First Aid certification from the American Heart Association.
