Surendar D

Surendar D is a seasoned professional in civil engineering with a focus on structural design and underground construction. Currently serving as Deputy Manager (Design-UG) at Chennai Metro Rail since October 2021, Surendar previously held the position of Design Engineer at Chennai Metro Rail Limited since January 2017, contributing to multiple key projects, including the Phase-1 extension and various ongoing metro station developments. Surendar's experience also includes roles as a Structural Design Engineer at Powertec Engineering Pvt. Ltd., where involvement in a thermal power plant project in Senegal occurred, and at Parsons Brinckerhoff, focusing on UG station designs for Chennai Metro Rail. Earlier experience as an Assistant Design Engineer at Karthikeyan Associates provided a strong foundation in structural analysis and design using advanced engineering software. Surendar holds both a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) and a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Civil and Structural Engineering, respectively, from Anna University Chennai.
