Anna Dion has a diverse work experience in research and program management roles. Anna is currently working as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the CHEO Research Institute. Prior to that, they worked as a Research Associate at McGill University and as a Methodologist at CRISPESH. Anna also served as a Technical Focal Point at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute and as a Health Systems Impact Fellow at the Community Information and Epidemiological Technologies (CIET). In the past, they worked as a Program Officer at the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) and was selected as a Young Champion of Maternal Health by Ashoka. Anna has extensive experience in research and program management, including evaluating epidemiological outcomes and health systems impacts, coordinating team decision-making, and managing budgets. Anna has also conducted community-based research on climate change and health in Kenya and Peru.
Anna Dion has a comprehensive education history with a focus on multiple disciplines. Anna completed their Bachelor's Degree at McMaster University from 1995 to 2000, majoring in Materials Science and Engineering, Engineering and Society, with a minor in Peace Studies. Subsequently, from 2001 to 2003, they pursued a Master's Degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering at Dalhousie University. Following this, Anna attended the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, where they obtained a Master's Degree in Public Health from 2007 to 2011. Anna then enrolled at McGill University, where they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in the Department of Family Medicine with a focus on maternal health inequities in Canada from 2015 to 2021. Anna also underwent Ontario Drug Policy Research Network training at the University of Toronto in 2023.
