Holly Ockenden has extensive work experience in various research and healthcare organizations. Holly started their career in 2009 at Sensient Technologies Corporation, where they worked in Regulatory Affairs until 2012. From 2012 to 2013, they served as a Research Project Lead at the University of Alberta. In 2015, Holly joined the Canadian Institutes of Health Research as a Graduate Student Intern, and later served as a Clinical Research Associate at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute. Holly also worked as a Research Coordinator at the Better Outcomes Registry & Network (BORN) Ontario from 2016 to 2020. In 2019, Holly held positions as a Clinical Research Associate at the CHEO Research Institute and as a Course Developer and Subject Matter Expert at BioTalent Canada. Holly currently works as an Associate in Major Initiatives at the Canadian Institutes of Health Research.
Holly Ockenden has a Master of Science (MS) degree from the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Health Science. Holly also obtained a PMP (Project Management Professional) certification from the Institute of Project Management in 2018-2019. Prior to their master's degree, Holly completed their Bachelor's Degree, Honours in Nutrition Sciences at the University of Guelph.
In addition to their formal education, Holly has obtained several certifications. These include "Ethics in Biomedical Research" from the CITI Program, obtained in January 2019, "Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt" from CHEO - Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario, obtained in March 2018, and "Canada Good Clinical Practice (GCP)" from the CITI Program, obtained in September 2015. Holly also holds certifications in "Health Canada Division 5 - Drugs For Clinical Trials Involving Human Subjects" from Health Canada | Santé Canada, obtained in September 2015, and "Tri-Council Policy Statement: Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans" from the CITI Program, obtained in September 2014.
Additionally, Holly has a "Canadian Food Safety Certification" obtained in October 2012. Holly has also completed training in "Aboriginal Culture Sensitivity," "ESHA Nutritional Analysis Software," "Environment and Policy Assessment and Observation," and "Workplace Health & Safety Certification," although the specific details of these trainings are not provided.
