Jeff Gilchrist started their work experience in 1999 as a Security Cryptomaniac at Entrust Inc. Jeff then worked as a Senior Software Specialist at Elytra Enterprises Inc from 2001 to 2012. After that, they joined Carleton University as a Research Assistant and Lab Manager, where they focused on developing clinical data repository and clinical decision support system solutions for a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Jeff also worked on developing models and algorithms to predict patient outcomes in real-time. In 2012, they became an Investigator at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario, where they continued working on the development of a Clinical Data Repository. Jeff also worked as an Adjunct Research Professor at Carleton University from 2013, conducting research on clinical data repository and clinical decision support system solutions for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Currently, they are a Senior AI Data Scientist at the CHEO Research Institute.
Jeff Gilchrist earned a Bachelor of Computer Science degree with Honors and Co-op from the University of New Brunswick in the years 1994 to 1998. Jeff then pursued a Master of Applied Science degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Systems and Computer Engineering at Carleton University from 2002 to 2006. Finally, Jeff went on to complete their education by earning a PhD in Systems and Computer Engineering from Carleton University from 2006 to 2012.
