Joy Beal

Joy Beal has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Joy is currently the Director of Revenue Optimization at Cherokee Health Systems since 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Covenant Health, where they held various roles including Manager of Business Operations, Office Supervisor, and LPN. As an LPN, they provided nursing care to patients in a psychiatric outpatient setting, performed admission history and physicals, administered medication injections and venipuncture, and obtained insurance prior authorizations for patient services. Before joining Covenant Health, Joy worked at Ballad Health as a Licensed Practical Nurse, where they focused on medication administration, assessments, documentation, and patient safety in an inpatient mental health facility.

Joy Beal has an extensive education history in the field of healthcare administration. Joy obtained their Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Health/Health Care Administration/Management from King University in 2019-2020. Prior to that, in 2017-2018, they earned a Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration from the same university. In 2008-2012, they attended Northeast State Community College and completed an Associate of Science (AS) degree in Sociology. Additionally, in 2010-2011, they obtained a diploma in Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse Training from Tennessee Technology Center at Elizabethton. In terms of certifications, they are a Licensed Practical Nurse, obtained from the State of Tennessee in May 2011.
