Shawn W.'s work experience includes a diverse range of roles in various industries. Currently, they serve as the CNB CISO at Cherokee Nation Businesses, a company that is a major economic force for the Cherokee Nation. Prior to this, they held positions such as CFED CTO (Interim), Sr Director of Technology and Security, and Director of Strategic Technology Enablement at the same organization. Shawn has also served as an Advisory Board Member at The BMS Project, Executive Principal and Technology Executive Coach & Mentor at Legendary Force Corporation, and Chief of IT Staff | CISO | PMO Consultant at Clyde & Co. Shawn held the role of CTO/COO at DataFile Technologies (merged with ScanStat) and CIO at the City of Olathe. Shawn's earlier experience includes roles such as CIO at PAML and HNTB, as well as CIO (ExamOne | Wellness | Employer Solutions) & Quest Diagnostic Director of IT at Quest Diagnostics. Additionally, they worked as the VP of Information Technology and CISO at National CineMedia (NCM). Through their career, Shawn has demonstrated expertise in technology leadership, strategic planning, team building, and innovation.

Shawn W. holds a Master Degree in Science Management from Baker University. Prior to that, they earned a BA in Computer Science and History from MidAmerica Nazarene University. In addition to their degrees, Shawn W. obtained further certifications including Certified Government CIO from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in August 2017, and CHCIO (Certified Healthcare CIO) from CHIME in 2015.
