Mike Dempsey

Mike Dempsey is a seasoned financial services executive with extensive experience in risk management and advisory services. Currently serving as the Financial Services Advisory Leader at Cherry Bekaert since June 2021, Mike leads initiatives related to regulatory safety and soundness, enterprise risk management, and operational resiliency for financial services clients. Previously, Mike held positions at Dixon Hughes Goodman LLP as the FS/ERM Service Line Leader, where responsibilities included managing enterprise risk offerings for regional banks, and KPMG US as a Director focused on Enterprise Risk Governance, earning multiple awards for high performance. Earlier career highlights include roles at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, Hypo Real Estate Group, Credit Suisse, PaineWebber, and Salomon Brothers, contributing expertise in operational and compliance risk across various financial institutions. Mike holds an Executive MBA in Finance from Nova Southeastern University and a Bachelor’s degree from the University at Albany.
