The Cherrydale Volunteer Fire Department was formed in 1898 as a benevolent organization and remains so today. Our mission statement is to aid in the preservation of life and property in our community of Cherrydale and all of Arlington County. Company Overview The Cherrydale Volunteer Fire Department was Arlington's first fire department (then known as the Cherrydale Fire Department). The Department, which celebrated its centennial in 1998, represents one of the last remaining operational volunteer fire departments in Arlington County. The Department houses a Light and Air unit (LA103) that provides emergency support services and a light utility vehicle (U103) that also provides emergency support services. The Department's membership is diverse and consists of operational members and administrative members. Membership is open to all applicants and further information can be located on the Department's website.
