Phil Farrington

Assistant Director, Visual & Performing Arts & Crewe Campus at Cheshire College

Phil has taught Photography and Media in FE for 23 years, through the birth and evolution of the digital communication age. He started his career as a photographer and moved into teaching photography on a part-time basis in the evening, to adults. His experience in teaching now covers a broad range of pathways from Entry Level to Foundation Art and Design and HNDs.

Phil started to teach at South Cheshire College in 1996 as a lecturer in Photography, Media and Electronic Art after teaching for four years at Stoke-on-Trent College. Phil progressed into management and now manages Visual Arts, Media Communication and Performing Arts. The area’s aim is to build even stronger links with industry through our “Shaping the Curriculum” events and an increased number of performances in the Centre Stage Theatre.
