Dr. Tynisa Giles

Dr. Tynisa Giles is a dedicated professional in the field of social work and education with extensive experience spanning over two decades. Currently serving as the Coordinator of School Social Work Services for Chesterfield County Public Schools since August 2016, Dr. Giles provides supervision and training to school social workers while facilitating educational services tailored to students' needs. In addition, Dr. Giles is an Adjunct Instructor for the online MSW program at Virginia Commonwealth University, focusing on diversity and engagement in social work practice. A seasoned conference planner for the Virginia Association of Visiting Teachers and School Social Workers, Dr. Giles has also held various educational roles, including positions at Simmons University and Our Lady of the Lake University. Dr. Giles holds a Doctorate of Education in Higher Education/Adult Learning from Walden University, a Master of Social Work from Norfolk State University, and is a Certified Trauma Specialist.
