Laurie Weston

Laurie Weston is an experienced educator with a focus on supporting special educational needs (SEN) and facilitating smooth transitions for primary students into secondary education. Currently serving as the Primary Transition Leader at Chesterton Community Sports College since May 2016, Laurie's role involves collaboration with local primary schools to enhance high school intake, along with planning and executing engagement activities for Year 5 and Year 6 students. Previously, Laurie held positions such as Senior Learning Support Assistant and EHCP Specialist, Cover Supervisor, and Learning Support Assistant, showcasing expertise in delivering individualized support and managing educational activities for students with SEN. With a background in events management, gained during a Bachelor of Arts degree from Staffordshire University, and additional qualifications in supporting teaching and learning, Laurie's diverse skill set includes event coordination and community engagement, exemplified through earlier roles in hospitality and elderly care.
