David Zhang

David Zhang is the CEO and Co-Founder of Chestnut, which aims to transform the insurance industry's technology and data infrastructure. Prior to this role, David served as the Chief Strategy Officer at Ethos Life, where significant achievements included protecting families through billions in life insurance coverage, scaling teams from 20 to over 300, and driving the company's valuation from under $150 million to nearly $3 billion. David's earlier experience includes positions in investment teams at Empyrean Capital Partners, Farallon Capital Management, Stanford Management Company, and Yale Investments Office, where a focus on absolute return and asset allocation was maintained. David holds an MBA from Stanford University, where academic accolades included being Valedictorian and a Siebel Scholar, and a BA in Economics from Yale University, graduating Summa Cum Laude.
