Bernie Smith

Bernie Smith is an experienced aviation professional specializing in helicopter operations. Currently serving as an S-61 Captain at CHI Aviation since August 2022, Bernie previously held the roles of Helicopter Pilot at Pegasus Technologies Inc. and S-61 Captain at CHI Aviation, Inc. Bernie has a significant background as an S-61 Standardization Instructor Pilot for DynCorp International, supporting Department of State operations in Iraq, as well as serving as Aviation Training Lead/Subject Matter Expert at SAIC, where expertise was provided for the Army's Aviation Digital Exploitation Capabilities program. Extensive military experience includes time with the US Army as a UH-60 Black Hawk Standardization Instructor Pilot and Infantry service in the United States Marine Corps. Bernie holds a Bachelor of Science in Professional Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
