Christian Jerel Sy

Christian Jerel Sy is a civil engineering student at UCLA's Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science, expected to graduate in 2026. Currently serving as Secretary for the Institute of Transportation Engineers at UCLA, Christian creates newsletters and promotes member engagement. As Co-Community Service Chair, Christian organizes events to advocate for active transportation and educates local students about transportation engineering. In the Chi Epsilon chapter, Christian leads academic review sessions for over 75 peers and facilitates regional conferences. Additionally, Christian works as a Transportation Design Project Engineer and Seismic Design Project Engineer at ASCE, contributing to the development of resilient structures. Previous experience includes a Student Engineer II position at the City of Los Angeles Bureau of Engineering, overseeing critical projects, and a Crew Member role at McDonald's, focusing on food preparation and sanitation.
