Michael Hovey

Michael Hovey has a diverse work experience in the medical field. Michael started their career as the President of Michael A Hovey, MD, PC in September 2008, where they served until August 2016. During this time, they also held various roles at CHI Immanuel, including Chairman of Surgery from January 2015. In 2016, they joined Creighton University School of Medicine as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery and CHI Health as a General Surgeon. Michael'slatest position is the Medical Director of Weight Management at CHI Health, starting in 2019.

Dr. Michael Hovey completed their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree at the University of Iowa from 1993 to 1997. Michael then pursued an Internship in the General Surgery Residency Program at Creighton University School of Medicine from 1997 to 1998. In 1998, they attended the United States Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine to obtain a certification in Aerospace Medicine Primary Course. Michael completed their General Surgery Residency Program at Iowa Methodist Medical Center from 2000 to 2004. Dr. Hovey obtained their certification as a General Surgeon from the American Board of Surgery in December 2015.
