Boyce Tankersley

Boyce Tankersley serves as the Director of Living Plant Documentation at the Chicago Botanic Garden since November 1998, overseeing a team that includes 3 full-time employees and 89 volunteers focused on various plant documentation activities. Prior to this role, Tankersley contributed to the Friends of Bakuriani Alpine Botanical Garden Foundation from 2005 to June 2014 as a member of the Board of Directors, supporting sustainable plant collections and development strategies. Previously, Tankersley held the position of Curator of Living Collections/Horticulture Manager at the Missouri Botanical Garden from 1991 to 1998 and served as Grounds Superintendent at the University of Texas Medical Branch Galveston from 1987 to 1991. Educational credentials include a Master of Science in Ornamental Horticulture from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture from New Mexico State University.
