Christopher Woolridge

Science Intern Program Manager at Chicago Botanic Garden

Christopher Woolridge has a diverse work experience in various research and coordination roles. In 2016, they worked as the Science Intern Program Manager at the Chicago Botanic Garden, where they managed federal contracts for botanical services and seed collections. Christopher also coordinated field crews, curated data, and handled logistics for training and supplies. From 2017 onwards, they served as the Conservation and Land Management Program Coordinator/Research Technician, overseeing interns working on conservation and land management projects.

During their time at Northwestern University from 2015 to 2017, Christopher worked as a Graduate Student and a Teaching Assistant. In 2015, they were employed as a Lyme Disease Ecology Project Assistant at the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies. At the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) in 2014, they worked as a Natural Resources Intern.

In 2014, they had an internship as a Plant Community Ecology Intern at the University of Minnesota. Here, they collected data and conducted independent research projects related to plant community response to environmental factors.

Before that, in 2013, Christopher held multiple research assistant positions at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, including Evolution and Life History Strategy Research Assistant, Avian Behavior Research Assistant, and Aquatic Ecology Research Assistant. Christopher also worked as an Evolutionary Ecology Research Assistant in 2013.

Their earliest work experience was as a Crew Leader with the Youth Conservation Corps from 2009 to 2012.

Christopher Woolridge has a Master's degree in Plant Biology and Conservation from Northwestern University, which they completed between 2015 and 2017. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's of Science degree in Integrative Biology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, which they pursued from 2010 to 2014. Additionally, they also completed a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Integrative Biology at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 2010 to 2013.
