Julie Steffens

Julie Steffens is an experienced professional in fundraising and development, currently serving as the Director of Foundation and Government Giving at the Chicago Botanic Garden since July 2014. In this role, Julie develops strategies for proposals and fosters collaborations across the institution to support donor engagement. Julie has extensive experience in identifying and cultivating donors and managing budget oversight as a liaison with the accounting department. Additionally, Julie has led a team as Interim Director of Foundation & Government Relations, overseeing institutional grant-seeking efforts and providing guidance for proposal development. Prior to her current role, Julie worked as an Administrative Assistant at Whole Foods Market and holds a Bachelor’s degree in English with a focus on Nonfiction Prose Writing from the University of Illinois Chicago.
