Salvatore D has a diverse range of work experience in various positions. Salvatore began their career as a CLC Radio Promotions Director at the College of Lake County in 2004, where they co-developed programming content and implemented new advertisement programs. From 2006 to 2007, they worked as a Peer Tutor, assisting culturally diverse students with writing assignments and offering time management strategies.
In 2008, Salvatore joined the University of Illinois at Chicago as a Library Aide II, organizing small manuscript collection donations and filing rare books. Additionally, they served as an Editorial Aide, providing writing tutoring for culturally diverse students and co-organizing a student magazine.
Salvatore then moved to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where they held various positions from 2013 to 2020. As an Archives Assistant, they arranged and described digital and paper documents for the American Library Association Archives, Paleontological Society Archives, Alpha Tau Omega National Fraternity Archives, and the National Council of Teachers of English Archives. Salvatore also served as an Interim Archives Assistant for Alpha Tau Omega National Fraternity and as a Pre-Professional Graduate Assistant, responsible for arranging administrative documentation and editing metadata descriptions.
In 2020, Salvatore worked as a Technical Services Library Technician at Backstage Library Works, where they installed RFID tags on various materials. Salvatore also served as an Information Technology Technical Support staff member at the College of Lake County, diagnosing and directing computer issues.
From 2020 to the present, Salvatore has been involved with the Chicago Botanic Garden in various customer service roles. Salvatore has supported Visitor Services and Experiences, monitored building alarm systems, and promoted Garden attractions and membership to visitors. Salvatore has also assisted in COVID-19 mask monitoring, distribution, and the monitoring of Garden attractions.
In 2023, Salvatore joined the Balzekas Museum of Lithuanian Culture as an Outreach Specialist, supporting audience attendance and proposing new uses for existing collections. Salvatore has been involved in developing new museum programming, grant writing, and forming strategic partnerships with other nonprofit organizations.

Salvatore D, MS, EdM has a diverse education history. Salvatore obtained an Associate of Science (A.S.) and an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree in Biology, General and Humanities/Humanistic Studies, respectively, from the College of Lake County in the years 2003-2007.
Salvatore then went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Illinois Chicago from 2007 to 2011.
In 2011, Salvatore pursued Continuing Studies in Elementary Lithuanian Language at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Salvatore later pursued higher education at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where they completed a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Library and Information Science with coursework in European Union Policy Studies from 2012 to 2015.
Additionally, Salvatore obtained a Special Collections Librarianship certification from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, School of Information Sciences in August 2015.
Finally, from 2016 to 2018, they obtained a Master of Education (Ed.M.) degree in Education Policy and Organizational Leadership with TESOL coursework from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
