David Swanson has worked in various roles and organizations throughout their career. David started their work experience in 2008 at Erie Neighborhood House, where they held various positions until 2016. In 2016, they moved on to Symbol Training Institute, where they served as the Director of Program Development until 2017. Currently, they are employed at Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership, where they initially worked as a Business Relations Specialist from 2017 to 2022. David recently transitioned to the role of Director of Business Relations and Economic Development in June 2022.

David Swanson completed their Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience at Oberlin College from 1998 to 2002. Additionally, they obtained several certifications in metalworking skills, including CNC Milling Operator and CNC Turning Operator from the National Institute of Metalworking Skills in August 2014. David also completed certifications in Measurement, Materials, and Safety in March 2013 and Metalforming I in September 2009.
