Cheryl Colston has extensive work experience in the legal field. Cheryl began their career in 1993 as an Associate at Carney and Brothers, Ltd, where they worked until 1997. Cheryl then joined Rosenthal and Schanfield, P.C as an Associate until 2001. In 2002, they worked as an Assistant General Counsel at the Board of Education City of Chicago before moving on to become the Director of Employee Relations from 2004 to 2012. From 2012 to 2015, Cheryl served as the First Deputy General Counsel at the Board of Education of the City of Chicago Law Department, where they successfully managed a large team and handled various legal matters. In 2015, they joined the Chicago Housing Authority and held the roles of Deputy Chief Legal Officer until May 2019. Currently, Cheryl Colston is serving as the Chief Legal Officer for the Chicago Housing Authority.
Cheryl Colston's education history includes a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from the State University of New York. Cheryl also obtained a Juris Doctorate with a focus on Law review from William Mitchell College of Law.
