Chicago Humanities
Jesse Swanson is an experienced theater professional with a diverse background in production, education, and accessibility advocacy. Currently serving as Festival Producer at Chicago Humanities and a Steering Committee Member at Cultural Access Collaborative, Jesse orchestrates programs focused on accessibility within cultural institutions. As an Adjunct Professor at DePaul University and a former Executive Producer at The iO Theater, Jesse has developed and executed curricula in comedy and production management. Past roles include various positions at The Second City, where Jesse contributed to original comedic content and student services, and managing directorial duties at Tellin' Tales Theatre. With a BFA in Theater Management and Production from the University of the Arts, Jesse combines artistic vision with practical experience in promoting inclusivity and storytelling through theater.

For 30 years, Chicago Humanities has been giving Chicagoans from all neighborhoods, means, and abilities, access to the day’s most thoughtful writers, scientists, artists, musicians, policymakers, public intellectuals, influencers, and activists. Chicago Humanities produces more than 150 public events annually, from Evanston to Englewood, Wicker Park to South Shore. Its CHF’s belief that by bringing people together in engaging spaces across the city, Chicagoans from all walks of life have the opportunity to enjoy a deeper appreciation for what makes our city unique, the complexities of the wider world, and the root causes of and solutions to issues affecting their lives.
