Bert R. Zimmerli

Bert Zimmerli is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Intermountain Healthcare. He is responsible for the direction and oversight of all Intermountain Healthcare financial operations. He also oversees Intermountain’s insurance/health plans operations, SelectHealth, as well as Intermountain’s Information Systems operations. Bert chairs the Board of Directors of Amerinet, Inc., the fifth largest Group Purchasing Organization in the country. He also serves on the Executive Board of the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce and on the Governing Boards of SelectHealth and the Intermountain Healthcare Foundation.

Prior to joining Intermountain Healthcare in 2003, Bert was the Executive Vice President and CFO of the Methodist Hospital System in Houston, Texas. Prior to that, he served in numerous capacities with Memorial Hermann Healthcare System in Houston, including Senior Vice President, CFO, as president of several of its subsidiaries. He also was a partner in Ernst & Young’s Houston office, where he spent 16 years, specializing in healthcare.

Bert earned his B.A. in Accounting and from the University of Wisconsin.

He is a Certified Public Accountant and received the Elijah Watts Sells Award for receiving the second-highest score in the nation when he took the CPA exam.
