Joel Lopez

Joel Lopez is a dedicated professional with extensive experience in coaching, law enforcement, and fitness management. Currently serving as the JV Head Baseball Coach at Whitney M. Young Magnet High School since February 2023, Joel also holds a position as a Police Officer with the Chicago Police Department since March 2013. Prior coaching experience includes serving as the MS Head Baseball Coach at Francis W. Parker School from March 2022 to February 2023. Joel's background in fitness includes roles as a Fitness Manager at XSport Fitness and a Personal Trainer at both XSport Fitness and Life Time Fitness. Joel’s military service spans from April 2003 to January 2010 with the Army National Guard and includes active duty as an Infantry Soldier in the US Army from June 2006 to November 2007. Academically, Joel Lopez earned a Master's degree in Sports Administration from Northwestern University and a Bachelor's degree in Justice Studies from Northeastern Illinois University.
