Megan Hougard

Megan Hougard is a seasoned education professional with extensive experience in the Chicago Public Schools system, currently serving as the Chief of Schools since January 2006. In this role, Megan supervises, monitors, and develops the performance of principals in 42 K-12 schools within the Englewood and Auburn-Gresham communities, which serve approximately 16,000 students. Previous positions include Deputy Chief of Schools, Assistant Principal at Harper High School, Resident Principal at Kenwood Academy, and Teacher. Prior experience also includes teaching in Orleans Parish Public Schools from January 2002 to August 2005. Megan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences from the University of Michigan and multiple advanced degrees, including a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration from National Louis University, a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Reading Specialist from the University of New Orleans, and a Superintendent Certification from the University of Illinois Chicago.
