Melanie Beatty-Sevier

Melanie Beatty-Sevier is a seasoned educator with extensive experience in leadership roles within the Chicago Public Schools system. Currently serving as Principal at Manley Career Academy High School since December 2014, Melanie previously held positions as Assistant Principal at CPS-Air Force Academy High School and CVCA Assistant Principal, in addition to various leadership roles including Director of Literacy, Programming and Special Projects, Literacy Manager, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, and Area Reading Coach over several years. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from Winston-Salem State University, an Education Certification in English/Language Arts Teacher Education from Elizabeth City State University, a Master of Education in Reading Teacher Education from Chicago State University, and ongoing doctoral studies in Curriculum and Instruction at Loyola University Chicago.
