Joshua Blomgren, DO has a diverse work experience in the field of sports medicine and healthcare. Joshua currently serves as the Head Team Physician for Benedictine University, overseeing the general health and well-being of the BU Eagles. Joshua is responsible for the day-to-day medical care of all athletes and provides training room and sideline coverage.

Dr. Blomgren also holds the position of Chief Medical Officer/Head Team Physician for the Chicago Red Stars, a professional women's soccer team. In this role, they are responsible for providing medical care and support to the team.

Prior to their current positions, Dr. Blomgren worked as a Sports Medicine Physician at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush. Joshua'spractice focused on sports and musculoskeletal medicine, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of athletes of all ages and skill levels.

Dr. Blomgren also gained valuable experience as a Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellow at Rush University Medical Center, where they provided comprehensive medical and orthopedic care to the athletes of DePaul University.

Before their specialization in sports medicine, they completed their residency as a Family Practice Resident at Resurrection Health Care.

Additionally, Dr. Blomgren has research experience and worked as a Research Assistant at both the University of Chicago and Benedictine University.

Joshua Blomgren, DO received their Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from Midwestern University in 2006. Prior to that, they attended Benedictine University from 1997 to 2001, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biochemistry. Joshua Blomgren completed their high school education at Marquette Catholic High School from 1993 to 1997. In addition to their degrees, they have obtained certifications including CAQ-Primary Care Sports Medicine from the American Board of Family Medicine in July 2011, and Diplomate-American Board of Family Medicine from the same institution in June 2009.
