Masaki Hemmi

Masaki (Mac) Hemmi currently serves as the 1st Assistant Coach for the Chicago Red Stars, starting in January 2024, after holding the position of Director of Player Personnel and 1st Assistant Coach at New Mexico United from January 2022 to January 2024. Hemmi briefly acted as Interim Head Coach in June 2023 and previously supported coaches Eric Quill and Zach Prince. Prior to that, Hemmi was associated with the University of Denver's Men’s Soccer program from August 2016 to January 2022, progressing from Volunteer Assistant to Associate Head Coach under Jamie Franks. Additional coaching experience includes a role as Associate Head Coach for INAC Kobe Leonessa in Japan and as a U.S. Soccer Developmental Academy Coach for Real Colorado Soccer Club. Hemmi's earlier career includes a stint as a Professional Soccer Player and a Technical Engineering Project Manager at Comcast. Educational qualifications include a Graduate Certificate in Psychology of Coaching from the University of Denver and a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines.
