Maudlyne Ihejirika

Maudlyne Ihejirika serves as the Director of Journalism & Storytelling at The Field Foundation of Illinois, where efforts focus on fostering a more equitable and inclusive local news ecosystem in Chicago. Previous roles include Program Officer responsible for managing philanthropic grants and enhancing community-centered journalism. As an accomplished author, Maudlyne wrote "Escape From Nigeria: A Memoir of Faith, Love and War," detailing a personal narrative of resilience amidst civil war. Maudlyne has extensive media experience as a columnist and urban affairs reporter with the Chicago Sun-Times, as well as a guest contributor to various radio and television platforms discussing politics and social justice. Leadership roles include serving as President of the Chicago Journalists Association Charitable Fund. Maudlyne holds a Master of Science in Journalism from Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the University of Iowa.
