Colleen Kane began their work experience in 2004 as a Sports Reporter for the Cincinnati Enquirer, where they worked until 2006. In 2007, they joined the Chicago Tribune Media Group as an Editorial Assistant for high school sports before becoming an Assistant High School Sports Editor in 2009. In 2013, Colleen transitioned to the role of White Sox reporter and held that position until 2017, when they became the Bears/NFL writer.

Colleen Kane attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 2000 to 2004, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in News-Editorial Journalism.
