Matthew Marley Mitchell is an accomplished attorney and community leader with extensive experience in litigation, administrative law, criminal law, alternative dispute resolution, and immigration. Since September 2012, Matthew has owned and operated a law firm, while also serving as an elected Commissioner for the Ridgeville Park District since May 2019. Matthew contributes to affordable housing initiatives as a Board Member of Reba Place Development Corporation and actively engages in civil rights work as a volunteer attorney with the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights. Additionally, Matthew is involved in local governance as a member of the City of Evanston's Police Advisory Board and serves as Chair of the Citizen Police Complaint Assessment Committee. Previous roles include serving as the Municipal Prosecutor for the City of Chicago and as a mediator for Resolutions Northwest. Matthew's educational background includes a Doctor of Law (JD) from Loyola University Chicago School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in History from the University of Oregon.
