Blaithe Flaherty has extensive experience in animal care, particularly in avian species, serving as a Senior Animal Care Specialist in the Bird Department at Brookfield Zoo since June 2018. Prior roles at Brookfield Zoo include Temporary Lead Animal Care Specialist and Animal Care Specialist. Flaherty gained valuable experience as a Whooping Crane Chick Rearing and Release Intern at the International Crane Foundation, and earlier roles include zoo farm keeper and multiple internships focused on animal husbandry and public engagement.
