Chicago Shakespeare Theater
Alec Thorne has a background in lighting and sound design for theatre and film. With experience at various Chicago theaters as a freelance designer, electrician, and sound engineer, Alec has gained expertise in the industry. Alec has also worked as an Assistant Lighting Supervisor at Chicago Shakespeare Theater and Northwestern University, where Alec held roles in lighting and sound supervision. Additionally, Alec has experience as a Moving Light Tracker for Addams Family Broadway and as a Lead Consultant at Northwestern University IT. Furthermore, Alec has interned as a Technical Services Intern at Electronic Theatre Controls, where Alec assisted in phone support, field technicians, and repair services for consoles and dimmers.

Founded in 1986, the Theater’s onstage work has expanded to as many as twenty productions and 650 performances annually. Dedicated to welcoming the next generation of theatergoers, one in four audience members is under the age of eighteen.
