Amy Newmark has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Amy is currently the Publisher, Editor-in-Chief, and Author at Chicken Soup for the Soul since April 2008. Before that, from 1997 to 2008, they served as a Member of the Board of Directors at multiple companies including Verso, Parkervision, US Wireless Data, and Query Object Systems. Prior to that, they were the EVP of Strategic Planning at Winstar Communications from April 1995 to September 1997. Amy was also the Managing Partner at Information Age Partners from March 1993 to December 1996. Amy worked as a Security Analyst at Newmark Research, Inc. from 1990 to 1993 and at Homans McGraw Trull Valeo & Co. from 1986 to 1990. From November 1981 to May 1986, Amy was the Managing Director at Cyrus J. Lawrence. Amy started their career as an Analyst at The Yankee Group from June 1979 to July 1980 and later served as a Manager in the Telecom Practice at Gartner Group from August 1980 to November 1981.

Amy Newmark attended Harvard University from 1975 to 1979, where they pursued a degree in Portuguese-Brazilian Studies and obtained an AB degree. Furthermore, they later attended the CFA Institute and completed a Chartered Financial Analyst program, though the specific start year is unknown.
