Jean Tomkin

Jean Tomkin is a distinguished legal professional with extensive experience in human rights and legal advisory roles. Currently serving as a Senior Legal Advisor at Fair Trials since October 2023, Jean also holds the position of Solicitor at the Chief State Solicitor's Office since April 2019. Previous roles include Partner/Solicitor at Sheehan and Partners solicitors from September 2017 to April 2019, and Project Lawyer at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Fundamental and Human Rights from April 2016 to September 2017. Jean’s career began at Sheehan and Partners as a Solicitor from 2007 to 2015, and included a role as a Human Rights Adviser for the European Commission's EU delegation to the UN from 2009 to 2010. Jean's academic credentials comprise a Master's degree in Human Rights from the European Inter University Centre, a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Studies from the Dublin Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Arts in French and Classical Civilisation from Trinity College Dublin.
